Worms, Germany
On Saturday we headed down to Worms, Germany (maybe 130km away). It is a beautiful old (6000 years old) city. Much of the places we visit are. I suppose one the the most significant events that happened in Worms was that it was here that Martin Luther was sent into exile. The monument that you see above (and below) was where Luther had his confrontation with the imperial council. The monument was erected in 1868.It was raining the entire drive over there, but as soon as we exited the parking garage the rain had stopped. It was perfect. We walked around had some lunch and eis (ice cream) for dessert. We headed home in time to do some shopping.
