North Pole!

I have been a bit neglectful in the blog department. I still have to share our trip to Mickey Mouse's house, but I wanted to get Christmas up first. Christmas will be done in parts. Then there will be one slide show for the entire week. First up, The North Pole!

Grandma and Grandpa Hansen came from Utah on Sunday night. We took off for the North Pole on Monday morning. This would be Noah's first trip to Santa's house in Colorado Springs. As soon as we got there we headed to Santa's living room for pictures. Noah totally clammed up. He was practicing what he wanted to tell Santa all the way up there, but when the moment of truth came...nothing. I told Santa that Noah wanted a really fast race car and the transformer with the city on it. We have no idea what the transformer is...but Santa came through with the really fast race car.

We then rode some rides. It was pretty cold, about 35-40 degrees, so the wind chill was a factor. The sky was clear, so it was nice.

After the North Pole we headed to Fargo's Pizza. There is no website for this place, but it has been around forever. We used to go there on field trips when I was a kid. Noah does really well there. He eats some pizza and loves the pudding. Also a great treat is the arcade.

It was a long day, but well worth it!

Thanksgiving!

We had Thanksgiving at our house on Friday. Grandma and Grandpa Pow Pow, Great Grandpa, F and C came up. Ted made an amazing turkey and all the sides were great! Noah even ate his mac and cheese on our china at the table. He thought is was really cool!

Oliver spent a lot of his time being loved by Great Grandpa. Noah was being his crazy self. Poor kid was building a fort in the living room and somehow fell and hit his lip on the table. It was a bleeder! After a bit of crying he fell asleep at about 4:30. He was out for the night! It was crazy!

I didn't get too many picutres for some reason. But here are a few cute ones.

Oliver's First Basketball Game!

Also on Sunday, after the Christmas tree hunt, we took Oliver to his first professional basketball game. He seemed to really enjoy it and so did Noah! Ted's work has a suite there, so it makes it really easy to have a kid that does not like to sit for very long.

The nuggets played the Bulls and won!

The family! Noah was a bit grumpy by this time. He had a really big day!

O' Christmas Tree!

On Sunday we were invited to go Christmas Tree cutting with some of our good friends. Our friend D's family owns some...a lot of land in the mountains and we got to pick any tree our hearts desired. It was really cool! I had never done anything like that.

Some of you know that we usually wait until December 23rd to get our tree because Christmas always sneaks up on us. So, it is very unusual for us to have a tree this soon. We are going to work really hard on keeping it alive.

When we first arrived we found a really big train blocking the private road. The men tried to push the train apart, but it didn't work. So, one of them decided to ask the train to move...and it worked!

A view from where we stopped.

We then headed out to find the perfect tree.

Found it! Oliver was very happy! Our friend J cut it down with his mad lumberjack skills.

Transporting the tree was pretty easy after the men tied it down with their valuable boy scout knots.

So, here is the funny part! The tree must have grown on the roof of our car. We thought the tree was maybe 14 feet...it is really about 18 feet. We think it was in a hole when we picked it. Luckily we have a really high ceiling and it works perfect in the living room. We all are so excited to decorate it!

I cut it!

Yup! I finally cut Oliver's hair. I thought that it would get better as it grew, but it just became more wild. Here are the after pictures. He looks so much like a little boy now!

First Snow!

Well, it wasn't really that much snow. As a matter of fact, it is all melted now.

You would not believe how long it took to get both of them ready to go outside. And they both were not even in snow pants (well, and Oliver only had socks on), but anyway it took a long time!

I purchased Noah's new winter coat yesterday and I think it kept him really warm. However, I realized today that he also needs snow boots. I wish I would have thought of that yesterday. Oliver is wearing Noah's 2T jacket! My little 6 month old can fit into 2T. It is big, but not as big as one would think.

Here is Noah's First Snow picture. I think this was October 10ish, 2005.

And both boys!

Halloween!

This Halloween was not as busy as years past. We headed out to the pumpkin patch a week early and got some really great pumpkins. However, we never found a good time to carve them.

On Halloween we headed over to our friend's house. They had a party for the kids and the adults and then we went Trick or Treating in their neighborhood. Noah had a fantastic time. He really "got" Halloween this year. He ran from house to house saying "'cuse me...baby Noah coming through..."

Below is a slide show of our Halloween pictures. Enjoy!

Sweetness

Here is a picture and a video of our sweet Oliver. At first he didn't know I was there. He is such a joy!
